Lara Bay
Lara Bay Beach
Situated in North of Paphos in the Akamas Peninsula is Lara Bay Beach, also know as ‘Turtle Beach’. The beach offers spectacular scenery with miles of untouched golden sands, providing you with an alternative to the more crowded beaches of Paphos. It is an excellent retreat from hustle and bustle of everyday life and allows you to be one with nature.
Lara Bay is also famous for its conservation society, and hosts a sanctuary on a long stretch of coastline where attempts are being made to protect Green and Loggerhead Turtles. If you wish you can volunteer to help Lara Beach Turtle Station whilst you are visiting and see these protected Turtle’s for yourself.
The beach itself is off a beaten track, but it is without a doubt worth making the effort to see. Due to the treacherous unpaved roads surrounding the beach, you will need a four-wheel jeep for access. Paphos car hire recommends that you hire a jeep, if you wish to access Lara Bay beach.
